Prague now has a c connection with Rome
This increases by two (Rome and Vatican City) the number of countries with whose capitals Prague is connected. The daily night service will extend connections to Italy and Austria. Reaching Rome is the icing on the cake.
The bus will depart from Prague Florence in the early evening at 17:20 and will also stop at Prague Central Station. It also stops in Vienna at Erdberg (21:35) and Vienna Südtiroler Platz, Graz and Klagenfurt. In Italy, passengers can travel to Udine, Portogruaro, Venice-Mestre, Padua, Bologna, Florence and arrive in Rome at Tiburtina station at 14:05. In the opposite direction, the bus departs at 17:05, arriving in Prague at 13:50 the following day. Tickets to the city above the Tiber start at 1469 crowns. Even when travelling to Rome, it is possible to bring a bicycle, the transport fee is 299 crowns.

“We are expanding the range of possible connections, and I think it’s wonderful that this year, for the first time, it will be possible to come directly to Rome by bus. There has been a long-standing interest in this kind of long-distance connection and I am delighted that we have been able to accommodate our passengers,” says Michal Leman, Flix’s Managing Director for Europe East.
All roads lead to Rome and have stops
Rome has everything. On both sides of the Tiber River, there are monuments dating back more than 2,000 years. It’s impossible to choose just a few highlights, but we’ve given you a few tips. The Vatican and St. Peter’s Basilica, where you can greet the new Pope Leo XIV. The Trevi Fountain (with limited access this year), or the Castle of the Angels. Rome also has the surreal City of the Dead, which is just a short walk from the Tiburtina bus station, where the bus from Prague goes.
New connections on the route include the possibility to travel to Portogruaro, Bologna and Padua.
Portogruaro is a small town of great historical importance in the province of Veneto. The town centre with its iconic St. Andrew’s mills and the historic Corso Martiri della Liberta, a street lined with old houses and palaces with ornate arcades, are tourist attractions.
Bologna is the capital of the Emilia-Romagna region and is considered by many to be the centre of Italy’s finest gastronomy. The city centre is dotted with monuments, including the world’s oldest botanical garden and the Torri degli Asinelli and della Garisenda, two leaning towers that are symbols of the city. There are also a number of religious monuments and, of course, the palaces of the Italian nobility are present.
Padua is the city of Saint Anthony, the cathedral and the adjacent monastery are among the “must sees”. Medieval market squares characterise the heart of Padua, most notably Piazza delle Erbe and Piazza della Frutta, lined with historic buildings and lively cafes. The pride of the city is the Scrovegni Chapel, home to Giotto’s fresco cycle, a masterpiece of Western art.
The FlixBus network in Europe is wider again this year. This year, 427 destinations will be available from Prague, with 44 daytime and 41 nighttime routes arriving in the city.
