Chery Accelerates European Expansion: First Shipment of Three Million-Selling Models to Czech Republic
Chery celebrated a significant step in its European journey with a grand ceremony at Wuhu Port, China, marking the first shipment of vehicles to the Czech Republic. The event was attended by Mr. Shaodong Zhu (CEO of Chery Brand, Vice President of Chery International). This marks the beginning of the Chery Tiggo family’s entry into the Czech market. This milestone represents not only Chery’s first vehicle shipment to the Czech Republic, but also a strategic leap in its European expansion following the landmark achievement of 5 million vehicles exported globally – demonstrating the brand’s resolute commitment to conquering its next million-unit target.

The Czech Republic’s new energy vehicle market has shown strong growth in recent years. From January to April this year, local EV output surged by 133% year-on-year, with battery-electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles representing nearly 19% of total automotive output. The newly shipped TIGGO7, and TIGGO8 models—all million-selling models in the TIGGO lineup—are set to strengthen Chery’s presence in this expanding market. Offering PHEV and conventional ICE powertrains, these vehicles cater to the diverse preferences of Czech consumers. Additionally, all models carry EU WVTA certification, ensuring seamless registration and compliance across the European Union.
As China’s top SUV export for three consecutive years, the TIGGO7 series has earned trust from drivers across over 60 countries and regions. Czech consumers will have access to its 4WD version, ideal for exploring the country’s picturesque landscapes. Completing the trio is the versatile TIGGO8, a million-seller offering generous “5+2” seating. Its spacious interior comfortably accommodates everything from multi-generational family trips to adventurous getaways with friends. Understanding diverse market needs, Chery is offering both PHEV and traditional ICE options for TIGGO7 and TIGGO8 in the Czech Republic, ensuring every driver finds their perfect match.
The new energy variants of TIGGO7 and TIGGO8 all derive from Chery’s groundbreaking Chery Super Hybrid (CSH), representing the pinnacle of the company’s three decades of independent R&D achievements. This advanced system combines a fifth-generation dedicated hybrid engine with high-performance hybrid batteries, the stepless super electric hybrid DHT, and Chery’s innovative “Guardian” safety system. The newly shipped TIGGO7 and TIGGO8 models are scheduled to officially debut in the Czech market this September.
