Manifesto Market Opens Dedicated Beer Concept: A Bold Toast to Czech Brewing Culture
On May 31, 2025, Manifesto Market Anděl unveiled its newest bar — a space without a name or logo, but with a crystal-clear purpose: to celebrate the richness of Czech beer culture in all its forms. The concept comes from the team behind the award-winning SOOT Bar in Prague and Himitsu Speakeasy in Berlin.
The taps will feature up to twelve beers, ranging from Czech icons lagers like Pilsner Urquell and Budvar 33 to a rotating selection of smaller craft breweries. The debut line-up includes Hazy Galaxy Session IPA from Vinohradský pivovar — a juicy, light brew packed with mandarin, mango, passionfruit and a touch of coconut. Matuška’s Raptor IPA brings a bold, historical style with Czech, English, and American hops. Zichovec’s Mosaic Ale APA is bright and citrusy with floral notes and mild sweetness, and Kisselac Višeň from Plzeň’s tiny experimental brewery Elektrárna will seduce guests with its bold cherry character and fresh sour finish. For something lighter, Clock’s Glee Pale Ale, brewed with
Czech-grown sorghum and reduced gluten, is perfect for a warm day — and safe for coeliacs too.
In addition to classics like Únětická 12°, Vinohradská 11, and Mustang, the beer bar will introduce a new craft beer rotation every two months, offering guests something fresh to explore each time they return. More than 30 bottled and canned beers from across the Czech Republic round out the extensive selection.
What’s coming next? Our July rotation brings another round of fresh and surprising brews. Beloved Czech brewery Matuška returns with its summer classic California APA – a light, citrusy ale perfect for warm days. Joining the lineup is a special from Pilsner Urquell: Yuzu Ale, a unique brew combining heritage with an exotic citrus twist. The fifth tap will be taken over by Pivovar Antoš – the specific beer is still being selected, but rest assured it will be something memorable from the first sip.
“Czechia may be drinking less mass-produced beer overall, but we see exciting demand and preferences shifting to craft brewing” says Martin Barry, CEO and founder of Manifesto. “Beer has consistently been one of our top-selling products. It is time to give it a bigger stage—to support our long-term partners like Pilsner Urquell and Vinohradsky Pivovar, and also to highlight smaller breweries that are pushing boundaries and tastes.”

To complement the tap list, Alexandros Gavrilidis, founder of SOOT bar, has curated a new beer snack menu sourced from local producers. Offering guests a taste of typical Czech foods like pickled sausage and cheese, pâté and more.
Monthly tap takeovers, guided tastings, and themed food pairings will enrich the experience and appeal to everyone from casual beer fans to seasoned connoisseurs.
“We want to share stories through beer pouring, open people’s eyes to the variety of the local scene, and create exciting occasions around Czech beer consumption.” says Daniel Prokeš, the newly appointed Bar Manager of SOOT cocktail and beer bar at Manifesto, previously of Almanac X Alcron and Andaz Prague. “If we can surprise a few guests with something they’ve never tried or spark curiosity about local brewing—then we’ve done our job.”
The bar’s interior was designed by architect Sara Gomes. Her “Brewed Elegance” concept brings together rich textures and warm tones — amber and saffron tiles, walnut wood, copper piping, and lighting inspired by the colors and character of beer. A custom beer fridge turns the bottled selection into a visual centerpiece.
With this new addition, Manifesto Market strengthens its role not only as a street food hub, but as a space for quality, discovery, and sustainability. Whether you’re here for a familiar lager or something brand new, Manifesto’s beer bar is ready to raise a glass with you this summer.
