Design + Build celebrates 5 years in Czechia, team has executed 50+ projects
Design + Build, Cushman & Wakefield’s division that provides interior design and construction services, is celebrating 5 years of operations on the Czech market. During this period, the team has executed a total of 50+ fit out projects, mostly in commercial offices for renowned Czech and international companies. To mark the anniversary, a book presenting 30 of the most outstanding projects was issued. Find a preview of the book on this link.
Cushman & Wakefield’s Design & Build business in Czechia was established in 2018, as part of an expansion of its European operations into the CEE region. The primary reason behind this was the increasing client demand for flexible ways of delivering projects, and the expansion enabled the firm to not only project manage for its clients but also deliver design services, as well as turnkey construction.
Glyn Evans, Head of Design + Build EMEA, Cushman & Wakefield: “Whilst we had high expectations for our Design & Build business in the Czech Republic, the speed of success was even surprising for us. The demand from clients for a smarter, faster and more cost-effective solution to deliver projects was clear from the start and has continued over the years.”
Starting with 6 colleagues in 2018, the team has grown to over 20 members over the years, including architects, project managers, cost managers, workplace and sustainability experts. The business quickly expanded across sectors and client types, enabling the continued growth of the business line. Over 50 projects were delivered, mostly fit outs of offices, but also several retail and industrial premises.
Reflecting changing employee needs and preferences, the team has proved their ability to design and create state-of-the-art workplaces that have benefited many clients and their workforces. The portfolio includes both local and international clients, such as Albatros Media, Mattonni 1873 and Kantar.
Nearly 30 of the most outstanding projects by Cushman & Wakefield’s Design & Build are now presented in a book of photographs that has just been issued. It showcases exceptional design executed by the team, as well as describes how the office concept has developed over the years, what changes it’s undergone recently and what are the key trends shaping the way we work today and in the future.
Glyn Evans, Head of Design + Build EMEA, Cushman & Wakefield: “Our clients’ needs have changed: from larger open plan offices to smaller agile workspaces in line with companies’ flexible working policies. Post-pandemic, people have become more sensitive to how and where they spend their time. They carefully consider whether they need to focus or to socialize, meet online or in person, travel to the office at all. And workplaces have to respond to this new mindset. Understanding how a firm and its people work and adapting the workplace accordingly is a true advantage which attracts employees to the office and makes them love working from there. With our team of experienced workplace advisors, interior designers and project managers, we are able to create such offices for our clients.”
